Used Audi quattro transfer cases and Haldex couplings, Q7, A4/A5/A6, Q5 and transverse AWD units, delivered nationwide.
Looking for a used Audi transfer case for sale in South Africa? The quattro driveline is one of the most expensive systems to fix new, so a tested second-hand transfer case is the difference between fixing the car and writing it off. We strip quattro models and keep the transfer units aside, the heavy Q7 boxes, the longitudinal A4/A5/A6 centres, the Q5 units and the transverse Haldex couplings.
Transfer cases develop whine, vibration or play with age and mileage. We inspect each unit before sale and match it to your exact platform, the Q7 4L and 4M are not interchangeable, and a longitudinal Torsen differs from the newer quattro Ultra coupling. Send us your VIN and we’ll confirm the right unit.

The heavy Q7 4L and 4M boxes (some sharing architecture with the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne) and the Q5 units. High-value, with chain and gear-set wear to check.
The A4, A5 and A6 centre units that bolt to the rear of the gearbox on the MLB platform, self-locking Torsen on earlier cars, quattro Ultra clutch from 2017.
The electronically controlled rear coupling on the A3 quattro, S3, Q3 and TT. A service-sensitive part, check the pump and fresh oil/filter on fitment.
Every part is checked and, where possible, test-run before it leaves the yard.
All parts are covered by our standard 30-day warranty for peace of mind.
Palletised and freighted to every province in South Africa, or collect in Centurion.
The quattro system is one of the priciest things to fix at new-part prices, so a tested used transfer case is often what keeps an older all-wheel-drive Audi economically repairable. On longitudinal cars (A4, A6, Audi Q7 parts) the transfer case houses the centre differential; on transverse cars (A3, Q3, TT) a Haldex coupling at the rear axle does the equivalent job. We stock both, pulled from quattro models we strip in-house.
Platform and generation matter — a Q7 4L unit won’t fit a 4M, and on longitudinal cars the gearbox code must match. Because the transfer case bolts straight onto the back of the box, it’s common to quote it alongside an automatic gearbox when both are tired. Send us your VIN so we match the right unit first time.
Driveline whine, vibration or shudder can come from the transfer case, but a worn rear differential, propshaft bearings or the Haldex can sound almost identical. Describe when the noise appears — on power, on overrun or constant — and we’ll help you pin down the real culprit before you buy anything.

It depends on the platform. A longitudinal A4/A6 unit runs roughly R5,000–R12,000, a Q5 unit R5,500–R13,000, and the heavy Q7 boxes R8,000–R22,000. Transverse Haldex couplings start around R3,000. These are often quote-on-request, so send your details for an exact price.
On longitudinal quattro cars (A4, A6, Q7) the transfer case houses the centre differential that splits drive front-to-rear. On transverse cars (A3, Q3, TT) there is no traditional transfer case, a Haldex coupling at the rear axle engages the rear wheels on demand. We stock both.
The platform and generation matter, a Q7 4L unit won’t fit a 4M, and the gearbox code must match a longitudinal transfer case. Send us your VIN or registration and we’ll confirm the correct unit before it ships.
Whine, vibration or driveline shudder can come from a worn transfer case, but also from propshaft bearings, the Haldex or a tired differential. Describe the symptoms and we’ll help you pin down the culprit before you buy.
Each unit is inspected for play, noise and obvious wear before sale and backed by our standard 30-day warranty. We note the donor vehicle’s mileage and details where we have them.
Yes. We palletise the heavier units and freight them from Centurion to every province in South Africa. Smaller Haldex couplings courier easily. Collection from the yard is welcome too.
